The Impact You’ll Make
As a Mechanical Engineer Manager at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and conduct resourcing planning including task and status tracking, vacation planning and backup management.
- Organize feasibility studies, design approaches and test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
- Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation.
- Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Prepare high-quality reports, KPI measuring and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements.
- Provide key deliverables including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), technical specifications, risk analysis, test specifications, and design review presentations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers.
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 5+ years; or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal and technical presentation skills
- Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, and others
- Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus
- Experience in project management, managing projects, managing people or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities
What We're Offering
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F or G. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
